Member for Curtin Julie Bishop MP joined a group of 40 Perth Modern School students and their four teachers at Australian Parliament House this Monday.

The Year 9 students, who were in Canberra as part of their Social Science studies, were at Parliament House for a guided tour when Minister Bishop dropped by.

Minister Bishop welcomed the group to Canberra and presented them with certificates to commemorate their visit.

Minister Bishop discussed her role as Foreign Minister, Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party and the Member for Curtin and took questions on a range of issues.

“We discussed various topics including Australia’s involvement in the war against ISIS and how the Government is working with Coalition forces in the fight against terrorism,” she said.

“The group was particularly interested in my overseas travel and asked questions about the people I meet while representing Australia, including Heads of Government, Ambassadors, business owners and local people.

“I am always delighted to meet students from my electorate at Parliament House. I hope the Perth Modern Year 9’s thoroughly enjoyed the experience.”
